Job Description of the IT operations Practice Head:
The suitable candidate shall handle following broad areas of work:
- Responsible for overseeing and managing all internal information technology projects while coordinating project phases from design, development to installation as well the liaison between clients, vendors, and consultants.
- Continuous monitoring of the organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects to align the same with respect to required upgrades in all the Hardware and Software assets of the organization.
- Verifying application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
- Preserving assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures along with information security and control structures.
- Identifying and implementing solutions to increase efficiencies and ensure continuous improvement within the service-desk and NOC functions including regular upskilling of the resources.
- Leading technology operations staff and supervising outsourced technology providers to ensure the timely completion of day-to-day support activities as well as the completion of long term initiatives.
- Oversee all IT hardware and infrastructure purchasing to ensure best pricing and service agreements.
- Reviewing server logs, security audits, data encryption operations along with administering domain user accounts in addition to configuring file and folder permissions.
- Ensuring that all the IT Operational processes are aligned to Industry standards like ITIL.
- Exercising the IT budget control function to ensure that the IT functions within the available budgets.
- Ensuring technical documentation for all the IT processes and functions, creating and managing the Knowledge base
- Reduce operational costs and risk
- Enhance IT operations controls and compliance
- Reduce human capital costs, increase flexibility and productivity
- Quickly implement new technologies for performance enhancement.
- Evolve and accomplish the performance metrics for the Service Desk and NOC functions.
Preferred experience in related domain:
8 to 10 years,
with hands on experience on managing the Service Desk and NOC functions in IT services
organizations. The candidate should have worked directly with the CTO/CIO. The candidate should have hands on work
exposure to the Automated IT operations / compliance tools.
Preferred qualifications:
- Engineering Graduation or equivalent in IT sciences.
- ITSM 4 Managing Professional certification is preferred and ITIL foundation is a must.
