Content Specialist

Bangalore based education technology company is looking for Content Specialist- English. 

Core responsibilities: All the responsibilities listed below refer to the high-tech based products that are created by the company.

Candidates comfortable / willing to work in the digital content space only should apply.

• Design age-appropriate curriculum (K-12) particularly for voice technology-based products
• Review content that is created, as per the curriculum designed
• Be the strong connect between content creators, graphics designers and programmers
• Design (storyboard) templates that are articulate, well designed, comprehensive, and intuitive to a high degree
• Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format [print to voice or voice to print, as an example]
• Create assessment items to assess learning outcomes
• Coordinate with external content creators on content creation activities

Additional responsibilities:

• Conducting user acceptance tests of the content on the final product
• Coordinating with the technology team to understand content design framework and processes
• Training internal teams on products

Mandatory skills:

• Excellent proficiency in English - written and spoken
• Should be able to understand & speak Tamil
• Excellent proficiency in editing applications (like Google Docs, Word).
• Excellent proficiency in instructional design principles
• Good knowledge of curriculum design principles
• Good ability to visualise how the content will be consumed by the learner and designing appropriately
• Awareness of content copyrights and plagiarism rules
• Passionate about education and content creation for education vertical
• Minimum 3 years of experience in having designed curriculum and created content for digital products

Good to have skills:

• Any degree or diploma in teaching (MEd, BEd, DEd - not mandatory, but good to have)
• Experience in having taught in a school class room setting will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of Adobe suite of products or similar, for content editors (like Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline etc)          

 Other points:

• Must be ready to work as an individual contributor as well as manage a small team of content creators
• Mandatory to work from office premises in Bangalore. Work from home option is not available for this role as of now. However, some flexibility in work timings can be extended based on mutual agreement.
• Must be able to travel to schools (customer locations) to understand how the products are being used, after covid restrictions are removed and it is safe to travel. Candidate scan expect about 3-4 days of travel in a year.
• Must be willing to work in a start-up that is in its growth phase. This means that the deadlines are aggressive and the need of the hour is a candidate who can respond to such a high demand.
